Ritzwell & Co.
Ritzwell is an important Japanese furniture manufacturer that has been able to conquer international markets thanks to its values, which are a synthesis between the fundamentals of Japanese philosophy and a contemporary essential formal language.
Founded in 1992 in Fukuoka, on the northern coast of the island of Kyushu, boasts for several years now two elegant monobrand stores in Tokyo and Osaka. In 2019 the company increased its production capacity by building the Itoshima Seaside Factory, in Itoshima City - near Fukuoka, just a few steps from the sea and immersed in an area distinguished by its lush vegetation where labour draws its harmony from the constant contact with landscape. The value of the relationship with nature is also present in the Omotesando Shop & Atelier, opened in 2022, in the splendid Nonoaoyama urban forest, which is within the Aoyama area, the famous zone of Tokyo that hosts the shops of the most famous fashion and furniture brands in the world, as well as museums, art galleries, restaurants, offices, luxury residences and leisure areas, designed by the most prestigious international architects.
From headquarters start a capillary distribution network that crosses national borders and spreads all over the world. Its Founder and President, Toshiaki Miyamoto, has always had the mission of making his mark internationally with his exclusive design, the use of top-quality natural materials, such as walnut and oak wood, and the company’s extremely high artisanal production standards that distinguish its leather furniture. Ritzwell operates both in the residential sphere and in contracts and bases its design philosophy on the Japanese culture and sensitivity. These qualities play an essential role in the brand’s creation of products of excellence characterised by their discrete beauty and absolute comfort that last throughout time. The merit for these creations goes to the brand’s designers, among which are Shinsaku Miyamoto, the art director who have signed numerous collections. Among the prestigious awards won by Shinsaku Miyamoto and Ritzwell: the Good Design Awards of Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, the iF Product Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award and the Archiproducts Design Award.
The result of a happy union between technology and expert craftsmanship, each product represents a perfect exercise in style expressing the skills of the master craftsmen. The cabinets, tables or upholstered pieces by Ritzwell all share the common denominator of the simple and well-balanced shape. Pieces that are pleasant to the eye, but also to the touch, capable of stirring emotions and triggering the desire to enjoy these pieces throughout life. Every item designed by the brand, in fact, preserves the value of the hands that created it and fulfils a function that belongs not only to the body or the eyes, but also to the soul which recognises its harmony and profound qualities. Not only does it furnish the home, it 'inhabits' it like a member of the family and is able to preserve its beauty over time: because high quality materials and finishes are chosen for their ability to gain greater harmony season after season, acquiring the famous "patina of time" (furubi in Japanese).
